Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using ExamEdge (examedge.app), you agree to these terms. If you are a school student joining via a class code, your teacher or school is responsible for authorising your use of the service on your behalf.

2. What ExamEdge is

ExamEdge generates AI-authored practice questions and mock exam materials for IB Computer Science and Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science, marks submitted answers, and provides progress tracking and targeted remediation. It is a study and practice tool — it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the International Baccalaureate Organization or Cambridge Assessment International Education.

3. Accounts

• Teacher, parent, and admin accounts are created and authenticated via Clerk.
• Roster student accounts are created by a teacher using a class code and a class-assigned secret word, without requiring the student to provide an email address.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials (or secret word) confidential.

4. Acceptable use

ExamEdge is for practice and revision purposes. You agree not to use it to gain an unfair advantage in an actual, invigilated examination, or in any way that violates your school’s or examination board’s academic integrity policies. You agree not to attempt to circumvent usage limits, resell access, or use the service to build a competing product.

5. Content

Questions, papers, and feedback generated for your account are provided for your own study use. You retain your own submitted answers. ExamEdge’s underlying question banks, generation system, and branding remain our property; you don’t acquire rights to redistribute or resell generated materials outside your own study or teaching use.

6. Subscriptions and billing

A free tier is available with usage limits described at sign-up. Paid subscription tiers, when available for your account type, will be billed through our payment processor (Stripe) under terms disclosed at checkout, including how to cancel. This section will be updated as paid billing is introduced.

7. No guarantee of results

ExamEdge is a practice and preparation tool. While question generation and marking are grounded in real past papers, mark schemes, and examiner reports, we do not guarantee any particular exam grade or outcome.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExamEdge is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including reliance on AI-generated marking feedback.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You, or a parent/school on behalf of a student, may request account deletion at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use of ExamEdge after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
